Chocolate-Coffee Birthday Cake

A birthday cake made for one of my older sister's friends.

Chocolate cake with chocolate mouse and coffee mousse filling done in rings (for a stripe look inside. Sorry, no pics) Coffee buttercream to frost, chocolate and coffee-cinn. buttercream for details, chocolate...whatevers on the side (not my idea I swear! I wanted to do lattice), and coffee beans around. And a caramel butterfly.

I have another picture showing the butterfly and writing much better, but it didn't show the sides, unfortunately.

With much difficulty and the clever use of a springform pan to provide protection (plus lots of clingwrap), this cake traveled all the way to Houston for the birthday....girl? Guy? caramel was drizzled on it at whatever restaurant they went to.

Couldn't get a photo of the stripes inside since I wasn't there, but I was assured it looked great and was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, it's my sis who takes credit for the stripe idea.

Btw, caramel stuff is hard to do without the right equipment.
